On Saturday I took a trip over to the beautiful village Layer de la Haye in Colchester for the wedding of Laura and Mark, I had a good idea that it was going to be a great day, having met Laura, Mark and her Dad previously I knew how much effort was being put in to this and was looking forward to it! On the way down I drove through torrential rain and the forecast wasnt great, my fingers were crossed that it would be dry when we needed it to be! So the wedding was being held at Laura’s fathers beautiful home with a marquee in the garden, when I arrived I met up with Laura and her bridesmaids to capture some of the preparations, the champagne had been opened and everyone was excited! I then moved on to the village church to meet up with Mark and the boys (still no rain), after a few photos and once guests had arrived and been seated I waited for Laura to arrive, you certainly couldn’t miss her coming down the road, she was in a beautiful Riley! After a lovely ceremony we took planned trip to a near by bird reserve for a few photo’s but it was so windy we didn’t stay long and finished of the photos back at the house, not that I’m complaining, its a lovely place to photographOnce we arrive guests were already on the lawn enjoying drinks and canopies (best pork ever) and then it happened, the heavens opened!! Everyone took cover in the marquee and carried on celebrating whilst I kept a close eye on the rain, soon as it stopped we went back out, got all the group shots done and took their wedding portraits using all the gardens had to offer, and just in time before the rain started again! I have to say I was made ever so welcome by everyone and was great to be a part of, Laura and Mark were clearly having the best time and were just so happy!
