When katy and Paul asked me to photograph their wedding next year I was very pleased, you see katy had been printing my work for years and herself has a good background in photography, I am sure having worked in a professional lab she has seen her fair share of photographers work! No pressure then! Although they are getting married next September we decided to make the most of the Autumn colours and took a trip to Wandlebury in Cambridge for their pre wedding photos. We had a walk around and a catch up whilst taking some photos! From what I hear their wedding promises to be real good fun and there is talk Vespas/Lambrettas being involved!

I provide these sessions for my wedding clients purely so that they know what to expect during their portraits on the day, and to show that 30 minutes is all we need to create a varied set of portraits! Also one of these images gets printed and presented at their wedding reception for their guests to sign:)

At the weekend I met up with Natalie and Sam who will be getting married in February at parklands Quendon Hall, the weather and light was lovely so we took a walk around the grounds, having a catch up and taking some photos!  All my clients get to do these sessions simply so that come the wedding day they have already worked with me which really puts them at ease, not that these two needed the practice! They were great fun as I expected and know the wedding day will be a blast!

One of these images also gets printed and presented at the reception with a large mount for their guests to sign! On with some photos…

Recently I had the pleasure of photographing Victoria and Peter’s wedding which took place at the St Nicholas Church in Harpenden, whilst a wet start to the day I knew the clouds were set to clear later and had the brollies in the boot just in case! I had a quick catch up with Pete who was very relaxed and didn’t seem at all nervous, grabbed a few photos of him and his brother who was the best man. Now normally at this point I have a chat with the vicar and double check on any do’s and don’ts but in this case it as very easy going as it was actually Victoria’s mum who was taking the ceremony! Pretty special I think:)

After a lovely ceremony we all headed off to The Luton Hoo Hotel which was only a 10 minute drive, its a beautiful venue with lovely grounds! as I thought the rain had subsided allowing us to venture out in to the gardens for some portraits and we had some gorgeous light too! As you will pick up from the photos, Vic is in the Raf and Pete in the Navy and they managed to incorporate this in to the details of the day which I thought was great! Check out the cake and the model planes!

Great couple and great guests who made my job an absolute pleasure, here are some photos from the day…

If you are planning a wedding at The Luton Hoo or anywhere else please get in touch!

On Sunday I took a trip to The Luton Hoo hotel for Peter and Victoria’s pre wedding photos, what a stunning venue! Lovely grounds that were so peaceful to walk around. So we had a catch up and took a few photos:)One of these images gets printed and presented as a signing board for their guests to sign at their reception. St Dunstan-in-the-East engagement photos by Matt Heath-014

Last week I took a trip to London to meet up with Karen and Jon for their pre wedding photos, they chose to have them at St Dunstan-in-the-East wich is a public garden set amongst the ruins of a church dating back to around 1100!! Great choice, its a lovely place, so we had a catch up and took some photos and took a few more on the way back to Liverpool St station. It always amazes me the things you come across in the city, such as an alley with hundreds of suspended books! So much character there, never short of a good backdrop! The main reason I do these sessions is simply so that come the wedding day my clients have already worked with me, I find this alone really helps them feel more at ease when having their photos taken, as a bonus one of these images gets chosen to be printed and presented at their reception as a signing board for their guests to sign:)
